CIB Holds Work Promotion Meeting on Deepening Implementation of Eight-Point Decision on Improving Work Conduct

On May 14, China's Industrial Bank (CIB) held a promotion meeting for the study and education campaign to further implement the spirit of the Central Party Leadership's Eight-Point Decision on Improving Work Conduct. The meeting focused on studying General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on the Eight-Point Decision, further implementing the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the work requirements of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, summarizing progress, exchanging experiences and practices, and planning next steps. Lyu Jiajin, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of CIB, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

The meeting emphasized that the Eight-Point Decision has leveraged a major transformation in exercising full and rigorous Party governance through small but impactful measures, driving revolutionary tempering across the Party. It has upheld and enhanced the Party's advanced nature and integrity, strengthened its cohesion and combat effectiveness, and solidified its leadership, fostering a healthy and upright political ecosystem within the Party. The Eight-Point Decision has historically transformed China and has become a “golden hallmark” for Party governance in the new era, which must be cherished and continuously polished. All employees must further enhance their political stance, fulfill the study campaign with a strong sense of responsibility and mission, and through concrete actions, deeply comprehend the decisive significance of the “Two Affirmations” and resolutely achieve the “Two Upholds”.

The meeting stressed that the current study and education campaign to implement the spirit of the Eight-Point Decision has reached a critical mid-stage. It is essential to integrate the campaign with the bank's central tasks, focus on key priorities of the study and education, earnestly fulfill the principal and oversight responsibilities for full and rigorous Party governance, continuously enhance the capacity to uphold discipline and combat corruption, and advance important tasks such as increasing revenue and reducing expenditures, alleviating burdens and empowering reforms, and driving innovation as outlined in the bank's work conference; all under the effective guidance of high-quality Party building for high-quality development.

The meeting required earnest study and discussion, adherence to the “learning-first” principle, strengthened theoretical grounding for firm ideals and convictions with conscious action, internalization of the Eight-Point Decision spirit as personal conviction and its externalization in practice, and ultimately thorough study, profound comprehension and resolute implementation. Efforts should be made to thoroughly identify problems, seriously examine shortcomings, and accurately pinpoint prominent issues in work style to provide a basis for effective rectification. Efforts should be made to resolutely carry out centralized rectification, carry forward the spirit of thorough self-reform, solidly promote case-based learning and case-driven improvement, organize Party members and officials to carefully examine typical cases and draw lessons from them, and improve institutional mechanisms for the regular and long-term development of work style. Efforts should be made to genuinely open up education, conduct in-depth investigations and research, solicit opinions and suggestions extensively, summarize and promote best practices, and make study and education a concrete action to maintain close ties with the people. Efforts should be made to solidly complete prescribed tasks, avoid formalism, routine approaches, and superficiality, and ensure that study is substantive, investigation is rigorous, and rectification yields tangible results.

The meeting was held both online and offline. During the session, some subsidiaries, branches, and head office departments shared their experiences and practices in the study and education campaign. Members of the Party Committee of the head office, Party committee members of subsidiaries and branches, heads of departments at the head office, and mid-level and above Party members and cadres across the bank attended the meeting.
