Recently, the "Chain Empowerment·Future of Healthcare" Fujian Province County-Level Key Industrial Chains "Quad-Chain Integration" Industry-Finance Matchmaking Conference was successfully held in Xiamen. Wu Bin, Mayor of Xiamen Municipality, was present and delivered a speech. Lyu Jiajin, Chairman of CIB, and Chen Xinjian, President of CIB, attended the event. Government leaders from the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Xiamen Municipal Government, Xiamen Bureau of Science and Technology, and the People's Bank of China Xiamen Branch participated in the conference. Together with academicians, biomedical enterprise representatives, and other stakeholders, they gathered to discuss the future of "Quad-Chain Integration" in the biomedical industry.
The event was organized by Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology and Xiamen Municipal Party Committee's Office of Financial Affairs, hosted by CIB's Xiamen Branch, and supported by Xiang An Biomedicine Laboratory, Xiamen Haicang Development Group Co., Ltd., Xiamen Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, and Xiamen Haicang Taiwanese Investment Zone Biomedical Association. The event aimed to establish industry-finance integration activities as an open platform, bringing together diverse stakeholders to promote the in-depth convergence of key county-level industrial chains.
In his speech, Chen Xinjian noted that Xiamen, a hub for scientific and technological innovation in Fujian Province, has witnessed rapid growth in new economies and industries in recent years. As a representative of emerging industries, Xiamen's biomedical sector has seen rising domestic and international influence, with a cohort of outstanding enterprises emerging. CIB has demonstrated strong practices in innovative financial services and government-bank collaboration for the pharmaceutical industry. Since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the bank has provided over RMB 10 billion in financing to Xiamen's biomedical-related sectors. Moving forward, CIB will strengthen partnerships with research institutions, universities, and innovation laboratories to accelerate the transformation and incubation of scientific achievements. Leveraging core enterprises, the bank will facilitate collaboration among pharmaceutical firms across the supply chain, delivering "financing + intellectual empowerment" services to strengthen, supplement, and extend industrial chains. By capitalizing on its "commercial banking + investment banking" strengths, the bank will expand its peer network, nurture more pharmaceutical industry leaders, and enhance services for SMEs. The bank will also provide comprehensive exclusive services for S&T talents, encompassing credit solutions, wealth management, and housing finance, to fully bolster the development of the biomedical industry.
At the event, Xiamen Bureau of Science and Technology elaborated on pharmaceutical industry support policies, industry representatives shared best practices, and CIB's headquarters and Xiamen Branch launched a full-lifecycle investment banking solution for biomedical enterprises and a "Tech Innovation + Inclusive Finance" service package.
Xiamen's biomedical and health industry is part of the city's "4+4+6" modern industrial system. Since being named among China's first national strategic emerging industry clusters in 2019, Xiamen's biomedical and health sector has developed a comprehensive industrial chain spanning nine segments, including innovative medicine, medical devices, and health services. The city now hosts over 1,700 related enterprises, including 695 nationally recognized high-tech companies. CIB was the first financial institution to serve Xiamen's biomedical industry, now collaborating with 61% of the sector's above-scale industrial enterprises. In collaboration with the government, CIB has pioneered financial innovations exemplified by products like the "Technology Credit Loan" and "Credit Enhancement Fund Loan," with deployment volumes ranking first among peers. During this event, CIB's Xiamen Branch signed strategic cooperation agreements with eight leading biomedical enterprises.
To implement the provincial government's directives on advancing the "Quad-Chain Integration" and fostering high-quality development in county-level economies, CIB has organized a series of industry-finance matchmaking events across Fujian Province. These initiatives deliver integrated "financing + financial intelligence" services to county economies. As the third stop of the event, Xiamen successfully established a collaborative platform for "Quad-Chain Integration" in the biomedical sector, injecting new momentum into the industry's growth.
